Mother's Day Cupcakes

Hi Everyone

Inspired by Little Paper Cakes, we have this beautiful cupcake bouquet on an iced board for this upcoming Mother’s Day.

I believe we can spoil our mums and show them that we appreciate their loves and cares with unconditional love they have giving us. They are seven cupcakes using our delicious vanilla sponge cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting, decorating with the fondant leaves, a bow, some branches and a message.

It’s also my dearest mum’s birthday and my eighth wedding anniversary on the same day (well, we got married on a mother’s day in 2008). I am still thinking what to make for them this year. Mummy will definitely be a dummy cake since she is in overseas. Paul is away on a corporate trip during that time so maybe something upon his return.

No matter what, I cannot wait to share my next cake creation with you.

Carousel Dessert Table

Hi Everyone

As mentioned in the previous post, I had been working on a themed cake or two in this case over the past few weeks. Here they are, my first Carousel Cake and the matching smash cake. 

The main cake is 10" chocolate mud cake with dark chocolate ganache. The smash cake is 6" butter cake with milk chocolate ganache. The birthday girl didn't smash the cake because it's too adorable to waste on smashing it. I also made some super duper cute cake pops for the little guests. They absolutely loved it because it's easy to eat like lollipops but it's cake.  

The dessert table was so lovely and got a lot of praises using our Ferris Wheel Cupcake Holder, our pink ruffled table cloth and simple white plates to soften the hot pink palette. Please feel free to contact us as they are up for hire with only a small fee.

I want to thank Verusca Walker's tutorial on how to make a Carousel Cake Topper. It's such a grand statement of the whole party.

Chocolate Tart with Macaroons

Hi Everyone

Today is my dear friend Yvone's birthday. I want to surprise her with her favourite treat i.e. Macaroons. 

In order to showcase the macaroons, I made a Dark Chocolate Mocha Truffle Ganache Tart and arranged as many macaroons as the tart allows on it. 

The flavour of the filling is new to me by "Baking Bites". The only difference is I substituted honey with corn syrup. I hope it did not create more bitterness from the dark chocolate and coffee. In the meantime, it's a good reason for her not to share with her children.
