Today I am bringing a super exciting new birthday cake to you! My new way to celebrate birthdays is with this nearly five inches Macaron Birthday Cake!
Macarons are without a doubt the sweetest and prettiest treats for occasions. Whether bite sized, oversized, or in fun shapes, they continue to be one of the most sought after desserts for events and celebrations!
I make one regular batch of macarons, which would give me about 30 macaron cookies, and I end up with 4 larger shells. This time, when making the vanilla shells, I had a bit of leftover batter, so I piped it into mini macarons, which I then used to top the cake.
In the end, it has 4 layers of vanilla macarons, 4 thin layers of chocolate ganache, 4 layers of light and moist chocolate chiffon (our Swiss Roll recipe)and decorated with mini macarons and some preserved flowers!
