Formula 1 Cake

Hi Everyone

I want to share this Formula 1 car cake with you. I made it for my dear friend Claire's son who turned 5 as well. Daniel is only two weeks younger than my lovely niece Sophie. While Sophie is a girly kind of girl, Daniel loves all motors.

A few years ago, Toddler Daniel was into "Lightning McQueen". I wished I have time to make up to him with a Lightning McQueen Cake. However, I need to settle something simpler in design while caring for Baby Jeremy. The idea came from Debbie Brown in her 50 easy party cakes book. Instead of covering the board with fondant as usual, I covered it with the black vinyl to save me more time (I had to do it while Jeremy took a nap).

The cake was our mouthwatering chocolate mud cake covered with yummy chocolate ganache and then tasty Bakels fondant. The wheels are cake pops. Basically the whole car is edible except the candle.

Every now and then I got question from my new friends what is your mud cake tasted like. Well, I can only say our mud cake is rich, moist and creamy only from best ingredients i.e. Callebut Belgium dark chocolate, premium vanilla extract, fresh free range eggs and real butter. When the days go by, the chocolate mud cake will certainly taste better and better.

Thank you for stopping by! The next project will be my own birthday cake.

Tuxedo Cake

Hi Everyone

Here is the cake I made for Paul for his 37th birthday. I always love him to wear tuxedo for a formal function, but he only wore once in his whole life which was on our engagement party. He doesn't favour the tux because he thinks he looks like a fat penguin. However, I always believe he looks rather dashing in it.

This year, I am happy to dress my mini Paul in his first baby tux and celebrates his Daddy's birthday in style. In order to match the theme of the celebration, I created this [Tuxedo Cake].

I was thinking to create a folded looking tux but I wanted to add a top hat to go with it. As a result, I baked a round cake instead of a rectangle one. The idea came pretty close to a cake from "Bake-a-boo Cakes" in NZ.

The cake was our moist strawberry cake layered and covered with dark chocolate ganache. You can't go wrong with a pink tint fresh tasting cake like this. This cake is seasonal to guarantee we get the natural sweetness from the strawberry itself. We don't use the artificial ingredient such as Jell O powder to create the taste of the strawberry. This tastes heavenly.

I hope you like this creation. Thank you for stopping by!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Hi Everyone

Hope you had a fabulous weekend. This weekend, bakingmama is very honoured to be asked to make "Red Velvet Cupcakes" and "Dark Chocolate Sugar Cookies" for my new friend - Vicki's birthday.

Our beautiful chocolaty flavoured cupcakes are fluffy and are amazing with cream cheese frosting on the top.

Moreover, she wants to have our perfect buttery dark chocolate sugar cookies to give out. As a Yoga instructor, I have reduced the sugar intake for her. However, it's tasted awesome.

If you are in Brisbane and want to do some Yoga classes, please feel free to contact me and I can refer you to Vicki.

As well, please check out our services. I have added more party decors for hire.

Thank you for stopping by.

Baby Onesie Cookies

Hi Everyone

This is a short story followed by the gingerbread cookies. On Sunday, we had a small gathering to do the “Stopping Saliva Ceremony” for Baby Jeremy at home. I made some sugar cookies for guests to take home.

The patterns in the fondant were included in the cookie cutter set. I wrapped them in the clear cellophane bags and placed in the beautiful cardboard boxes. Furthermore, I made some ‘chocolate macaroons with caramel filling’ to eat at the gathering.

I want to thank my dearest friends to attend Baby Jeremy’s first social gathering. It was truly wonderful and such a sweet memory in our lives.

Gingerbread Cookies

Hi Everyone

Time flies fast. Baby Jeremy is about three months old. In the meantime, he starts teething already. He is drooling consistently but not excessively yet. I still don't want him to get the drool rash later on.

When the baby is four months old or 100 days old, we will arrange a "stopping saliva ceremony" in our culture. Yes, we have arranged it one month early because he doesn't like to wear bibs.

To follow the tradition, we will use 12 cookies with red yarn to string them together; hang it around Baby Jeremy's neck while I hold him.

Elders, relatives, friends will take turn to remove the cookies around Baby Jeremy's neck; rub his mouth gently and say something like 'no more saliva, hope you can call out Daddy soon' etc. Then, they eat it.

I am scared to make cookies because they normally turn out really tough to eat (ouch). Therefore, I decided to practice before the ceremony and I came across this delicious and crunchy gingerbread cookies recipe. You can find it via "Brown Eyed Baker". I love it and definitely going to use it for my future parties.

Anyway, here are my testing lots! They are beautiful just like that without any icing decoration. Don't you think?

I love May. Yes, it's not only my very first Mother's Day (teary eyes) but my mum's birthday as well as my wedding anniversary (a big 5). If you have been following my stories, you would know how important my mum was and still is in my journey to beccome a mum and as a mum.

Here is to my mum! I love you and thank you!

Thank you for sharing my story. Wishing every mother has a wonderful Mother's Day. I know I will with my bundle of joy in my arms.

Love of Family

Hi Everyone

Mum and my older sister, Jonie's care for me and my baby came to an end. I made this "Chocolate Fudge Cake" to show my appreciation. It's topped with dark chocolate ganache and dusted with icing sugar. The cake stencil came from 'Good Taste Magazine'.

The deliciously indulgent dark chocolate by Godiva makes this cake taste heavenly. My family loves it and Sophie, my lovely niece kept asking for more.

~~
Dear Mum

Thank you for your unconditional love, care and generosity. I am who because of you. I am eternally grateful for all that you do and all that you have given. Thank you for your constant support and guidance. I hope that I can be as good as you to me to Baby Jeremy.

Dear Sister

I am so lucky to have you as my big sister; who offers me consistently supports with so much love and compassion. I honour you and I thank you.

Dear Sophie and Baby Vivian (my two cute nieces)

I simply love your laughter more than anything else. I wish you two can share the same bond that I have with your mother with Baby Jeremy in the future. I could tell you girls will simply by how you interacted with him.

I love you all xx.
