Cowboy Boot Birthday Cake

Yee-haw!  Saddle up your cowboys and cowgirls for a stompin' good time.
Uncle Jimmy is celebrating a birthday.
I could not get enough time to handmade some gumpaste toppers for him. Instead, I have replaced a ready to use gumpaste cowboy boot on top with a simple message to wish him a happy birthday.
The flovour of the cake is "Orange & Vanilla Bean" covered by delicious dark Belgian chocolate ganache. The beautfiul oranges are in season and they are so sweet. The use of sugar was minimal in this cake.
Nothing is more like a handmade cake made with love.

The detail of the matching cowboy boot birthday card is on my other blog - http://www.chubbyscraftyworld.blogspot.com/

Happy Birthday to Jimmy!

Happy decorating~

Tool Box Cake

Celebrate the birthday of your favourite handyman with a tool box shaped cake. You can use any loaf cake to form the base of the tool box.

If you have time, cover the sides of the cake with colour fondant to make a metal tool box or use icing tinted to a tan colour for a wooden tool box. You can even add a wood grain effect to the sides of the box by gently dragging a knife or fork through the icing before it sets.

Ice the top your cake with white frosting and arrange clean toy tools on top to fill your tool box. I have used fondant to form edible tools and place them in front of the cake.

It’s an 8” square marble cake with dark chocolate Ganache.

This cake is dedicated to Mr Leung who is always on the rescue to all our maintenance issues at home.

Happy cake decorating~
