Thank You Cookies

Hi Cake Sweeties

It has been a while since my last creation. I am not being lazy at all; in fact, my daily life is full of different commitments.

Before I have time to share what I did at the Halloween Party I was hosting last month, I want to share these beautiful thank you cookies I made for my friend.

Our boys will be heading to Prep next year. It will be the end of their Kindergarten Year with our nominated Care Agencies. Her son is with a private Day Care Mum since he was only a baby. There’s nothing like the customised treats to make an educator or a day care Mum in this case feel loved and appreciated…especially handmade treats.

It’s always sad to say goodbye to a good educator and walk into the future. These cookies are also the perfect way to send your kids to the new school with a smile on their face.

Enjoy,

Beth

Mini Sushi Cake

Dear Cake Sweeties

It’s my dearest friend Nancy’s birthday. Nancy lived in Japan since she became an exchange student and came back only early this year.

I made her a mini round cake made to look like a sushi roll. I used tic tac to emulate rice (the idea came from “How to Cake It”).  Inside the cake, the salmon and avocado were all fondant. The wasabi and ginger were fondant too and the soy sauce is brown colouring in order to take a fun photo.

Dear Nancy

お誕生日おめでとうございます.

Miss Chelsea's 1st Birthday

Dear Cake Sweeties

Last weekend, the cake design was in collaboration with my friend who incorporated several of her and her baby daughter’s favourite elements onto the cake and the desserts.

I like the way she got several elements complimenting each other at the end, such as the hot air balloon, cupcakes with fondant snowflakes and Ballerina Tutu Toppers; and macarons with fondant crowns really got family and friends’ hearts soaring high!

The 5” tall cake included handmade cloud formation border at the bottom. In the middle, she bought me the “two angels holding a heart” mould to use.

Flavours included vanilla and chocolate sponge cakes with milk chocolate ganache. Primary colours included shades of pink and purple. Flavours of macarons were vanilla and hazelnut sandwiched with salted caramel chocolate ganache. Flavours of the cupcakes were our beautiful and moist vanilla and very healthy beetroot red velvet.

It was a beautiful celebration and what a honour to be part of it.

Gudetama Pudding Cake

Dear Cake Sweeties

Here is another Sanrio Character Cake I made for my dear friend's nephew. I love all Sanrio characters whether they are cheerful Hello Kitty or Lazy Egg.

In the beginning while doing more researches about this particular character. I found no one ever made this cake yet; so I don't have any references how it would turn out. Thankful the cake was well-loved!

The cake was our delicious vanilla sponge cakes, which I added the marmalade syrup for extra moistness, due to the fact that I spent quite some times to carve the shape. After I am happy with the shape, I crumbed coat with our luxurious dark chocolate ganache. The birthday boy doesn't like chocolate so just very thin layered of chocolate filled and crumbed coat before I covered the whole cake with fondant.

This is also the first time I made the toppers (the giant cherry and whipped cream both out of styrofoam) after I finished decorating the cake. In the photo, the cherry and whipped cream occupied the top of the pudding equally. Hence, I waited until I finished decorating the cake before I started with the toppers like I always do.

Dear Louis

Designer Shoe Box Cake

Hi Cake Sweeties

My new fashion cake design is featuring a finely hand sugar-crafted red Manolo Blahnik stiletto on top of a white box with a red sugar-crafted rose.

The cake itself aka the shoe box is using two layers of red velvet cakes (no edible color but the beetroot purees) and two layers of carrot cakes, filled with cream cheese whipping cream and frosted with white chocolate ganache. You can't get enough of healthy elements here.

I am trying very hard with sharp edges on cornered cakes but I am happy with the final result because I have added the hand painted labels on both sides of the cake.

This cake is perfect for the fashion conscious or Sex in the City fans. A cake for my dear friend Claire who used to only wears high heel shoes all the times. Since she became a Mum of two beautiful girls, she is no longer wearing any, hence I made her this cake for her birthday this year.

Dearest Claire

Life is a journey so enjoy every mile. Happy birthday!

3D Rolling Pin Cake

Hi Cake Sweeties

Today I had a baker theme cake for my birthday this year again. I wanted to incorporate something that would reflect my style and one of my profound interests i.e. baking.

Last year, I had some basic caking tools on the cake such as a rolling pin, a wooden spoon and a piping bag as well as a figurine of myself. This year, I am settled on making a 3D rolling pin cake. I went with a new chocolate mud cake recipe I found online and gave it a twist on flour and sugar rations. It was a very dense cake but my children still like it.

I want to say thank you for everyone’s supports over the years. Although I am doing baking or caking as a hobby at the moment, and your supports and trusts let me getting creative and my imagination go freely every time. As Albert Einstein said: I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. I am deeply grateful that I can always use my imagination and get creative in order to create a piece of sweet arts for you and your beloved ones.

And Happy birthday to me. Hope to see you all very soon for my next creation.

Gender Reveal Cake

What Is Your Guess?
Little Gent or Little Lady

Hi Cake Sweeties

This is a cake that definitely keeps you guessing. A friend asked if I could make a cake for a small gender reveal party for her sister. Of course I would be very happy and honoured to do this :-)

I tinted my vanilla sponge cake with the colour symbolising the gender of the baby. It is also a fun cake filled with a colourful sweet surprise that tumbles out when they cut into it revealing to their eager family and friends if the baby-to-be is a girl (pink) or a boy (blue). Then, I frosted the cake with our Belgium White Chocolate Ganache and decorated with matching fondant scolloped borders and polka dots. Finally. I added two handmade fondant onesies cake toppers on the top.

Gender reveal parties are a fun and exciting way begin the introduction of a new baby into the world. We also offer gender reveal cupcakes. If your are planning a party, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you for stopping by.

Naked Cake

Hi Cake Sweeties

I made this naked cake for my dearest friend's belated birthday as we both were in overseas at the time.

Here, I didn't cover the cake with fondant (hence it's called a naked cake). The pink ombre vanilla sponge cake was sandwiched together with whipped white chocolate ganache, so the better the sponge, the better the cake. To finish the look, I decorated with Lindt Strawberry and Cream White Chocolate on the top.

If you are looking for something special for a birthday, afternoon tea or another occasion, a naked cake could be what you're looking for.

Dear Yvone

Best friends are hard to come by. That's why on this special day I wanted to let you know just how much your friendship means to me. Thank you for being my closest friend.

Happy birthday, Lovely!

Thank you for stopping by. Can't wait to show you my next sweet creation.

Versace Logo Cake

Hi Cake Sweeties

Long time no caking! bakingmummy is back from holiday and can’t wait to assist you with planning a party, baking a cake and more, decorating the venue and taking a lot of party photos for you.

First thing I made when I came back was for my supported beloved hubby. I made this one-tiered cake for our wedding anniversary. Paul and I just celebrated our blissful 9 wedded years together.

As Paul and I got married at Palazzo Versace, Gold Coast in 2008. I made this one of a kind Versace Custom handmade celebration cake for us. It features a hand-painted Versace Logo.

The flavours (green tea swirl and chocolate swirl sponge cakes) were new and super delicious i.e. moist and super soft. I reckon I would avoid using them under fondant in the future again. The fillings were green tea milk paste and Kinder chocolate bars. Yummo!!

~~
Dear Paul

You’re the only one I want to annoy for the rest of my life.

So, another year to create precious memories together. Another year to discover new things to enjoy about each other. Another year to strengthen a marriage that defines forever.

Can't wait to roll over to our 10th next year.

Happy 9th Wedding Anniversary👨🏻💼👩🏻🍳

Love always
Wifey

You can glam things up a notch with this stunning Versace cake too! And yes we can make Versace cookies or macarons too - just ask! Until then, see you next time.
