Miss Chelsea's 1st Birthday

Dear Cake Sweeties

Last weekend, the cake design was in collaboration with my friend who incorporated several of her and her baby daughter’s favourite elements onto the cake and the desserts.

I like the way she got several elements complimenting each other at the end, such as the hot air balloon, cupcakes with fondant snowflakes and Ballerina Tutu Toppers; and macarons with fondant crowns really got family and friends’ hearts soaring high!

The 5” tall cake included handmade cloud formation border at the bottom. In the middle, she bought me the “two angels holding a heart” mould to use.

Flavours included vanilla and chocolate sponge cakes with milk chocolate ganache. Primary colours included shades of pink and purple. Flavours of macarons were vanilla and hazelnut sandwiched with salted caramel chocolate ganache. Flavours of the cupcakes were our beautiful and moist vanilla and very healthy beetroot red velvet.

It was a beautiful celebration and what a honour to be part of it.

Dear Chelsea

Hope that you had a sweet 1st birthday. Not that you need any more sugar, you’re already such a sweetheart.

Thank you for having us and we three musketeers had a fun and sweet time.

Thank you for stopping by. Hope to see you soon.

Gudetama Pudding Cake

Dear Cake Sweeties

Here is another Sanrio Character Cake I made for my dear friend's nephew. I love all Sanrio characters whether they are cheerful Hello Kitty or Lazy Egg.

In the beginning while doing more researches about this particular character. I found no one ever made this cake yet; so I don't have any references how it would turn out. Thankful the cake was well-loved!

The cake was our delicious vanilla sponge cakes, which I added the marmalade syrup for extra moistness, due to the fact that I spent quite some times to carve the shape. After I am happy with the shape, I crumbed coat with our luxurious dark chocolate ganache. The birthday boy doesn't like chocolate so just very thin layered of chocolate filled and crumbed coat before I covered the whole cake with fondant.

This is also the first time I made the toppers (the giant cherry and whipped cream both out of styrofoam) after I finished decorating the cake. In the photo, the cherry and whipped cream occupied the top of the pudding equally. Hence, I waited until I finished decorating the cake before I started with the toppers like I always do.

Dear Louis

Hope you have an EGG-Citing day! Happy 10th birthday~ Thank you for allowing us to be part of your milestone celebration.

Thank you all for stopping by.

Designer Shoe Box Cake

Hi Cake Sweeties

My new fashion cake design is featuring a finely hand sugar-crafted red Manolo Blahnik stiletto on top of a white box with a red sugar-crafted rose.

The cake itself aka the shoe box is using two layers of red velvet cakes (no edible color but the beetroot purees) and two layers of carrot cakes, filled with cream cheese whipping cream and frosted with white chocolate ganache. You can't get enough of healthy elements here.

I am trying very hard with sharp edges on cornered cakes but I am happy with the final result because I have added the hand painted labels on both sides of the cake.

This cake is perfect for the fashion conscious or Sex in the City fans. A cake for my dear friend Claire who used to only wears high heel shoes all the times. Since she became a Mum of two beautiful girls, she is no longer wearing any, hence I made her this cake for her birthday this year.

Dearest Claire

Life is a journey so enjoy every mile. Happy birthday!

Thank you for looking and see you next time.

3D Rolling Pin Cake

Hi Cake Sweeties

Today I had a baker theme cake for my birthday this year again. I wanted to incorporate something that would reflect my style and one of my profound interests i.e. baking.

Last year, I had some basic caking tools on the cake such as a rolling pin, a wooden spoon and a piping bag as well as a figurine of myself. This year, I am settled on making a 3D rolling pin cake. I went with a new chocolate mud cake recipe I found online and gave it a twist on flour and sugar rations. It was a very dense cake but my children still like it.

I want to say thank you for everyone’s supports over the years. Although I am doing baking or caking as a hobby at the moment, and your supports and trusts let me getting creative and my imagination go freely every time. As Albert Einstein said: I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. I am deeply grateful that I can always use my imagination and get creative in order to create a piece of sweet arts for you and your beloved ones.

And Happy birthday to me. Hope to see you all very soon for my next creation.

Gender Reveal Cake

What Is Your Guess?
Little Gent or Little Lady

Hi Cake Sweeties

This is a cake that definitely keeps you guessing. A friend asked if I could make a cake for a small gender reveal party for her sister. Of course I would be very happy and honoured to do this :-)

I tinted my vanilla sponge cake with the colour symbolising the gender of the baby. It is also a fun cake filled with a colourful sweet surprise that tumbles out when they cut into it revealing to their eager family and friends if the baby-to-be is a girl (pink) or a boy (blue). Then, I frosted the cake with our Belgium White Chocolate Ganache and decorated with matching fondant scolloped borders and polka dots. Finally. I added two handmade fondant onesies cake toppers on the top.

Gender reveal parties are a fun and exciting way begin the introduction of a new baby into the world. We also offer gender reveal cupcakes. If your are planning a party, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you for stopping by.

Naked Cake

Hi Cake Sweeties

I made this naked cake for my dearest friend's belated birthday as we both were in overseas at the time.

Here, I didn't cover the cake with fondant (hence it's called a naked cake). The pink ombre vanilla sponge cake was sandwiched together with whipped white chocolate ganache, so the better the sponge, the better the cake. To finish the look, I decorated with Lindt Strawberry and Cream White Chocolate on the top.

If you are looking for something special for a birthday, afternoon tea or another occasion, a naked cake could be what you're looking for.

Dear Yvone

Best friends are hard to come by. That's why on this special day I wanted to let you know just how much your friendship means to me. Thank you for being my closest friend.

Happy birthday, Lovely!

Thank you for stopping by. Can't wait to show you my next sweet creation.

Versace Logo Cake

Hi Cake Sweeties

Long time no caking! bakingmummy is back from holiday and can’t wait to assist you with planning a party, baking a cake and more, decorating the venue and taking a lot of party photos for you.

First thing I made when I came back was for my supported beloved hubby. I made this one-tiered cake for our wedding anniversary. Paul and I just celebrated our blissful 9 wedded years together.

As Paul and I got married at Palazzo Versace, Gold Coast in 2008. I made this one of a kind Versace Custom handmade celebration cake for us. It features a hand-painted Versace Logo.

The flavours (green tea swirl and chocolate swirl sponge cakes) were new and super delicious i.e. moist and super soft. I reckon I would avoid using them under fondant in the future again. The fillings were green tea milk paste and Kinder chocolate bars. Yummo!!

Dear Paul

You’re the only one I want to annoy for the rest of my life.

So, another year to create precious memories together. Another year to discover new things to enjoy about each other. Another year to strengthen a marriage that defines forever.

Can't wait to roll over to our 10th next year.

Happy 9th Wedding Anniversary👨🏻💼👩🏻🍳

Love always

You can glam things up a notch with this stunning Versace cake too! And yes we can make Versace cookies or macarons too - just ask! Until then, see you next time.

Happy baking

Green Tea Swiss Roll

Hi Cake Sweeties

My husband likes Green Tea and lightness and less sweetness of a Swiss Roll. Hence, I combined these two elements and made him this Green Tea Swiss Roll for breakfast. This divine cake is a light and soft that is rolled up with a filling of green tea milk spread.

I was hoping it would last for couple of days but I found it's gone by one.

Thinking to create a mini version for our party favor range in the near future. It's going to be a hit.

Thank you for stopping by.
Happy baking,

Unicorn Macarons

Hi Cake Sweeties

Something is magical here at bakingmummy’s kitchen today.

Here are the “Unicorn Macarons” everyone is so excited about since last year. I am not perfect in making macarons yet but my friends asked me if I could create something for them. “Sumopocky” who I followed on Youtube inspires this macaroon design.

Next time, I would probably use the method of “L’atelier de Roxane” on Youtube for better looking and easier way to create the features such as eyes and mouth.

However, it’s still absolutely delicious with a bit of crunch outside and soft centre. The best thing about homemade using best ingredients you can find.

Counting our blessings and wishing you more! See you next time!

Happy baking,

Beth xo

Lollipop Chiffon Pops

Hi Everyone

I discovered a very talented and creative mummy baker recently. I then used this opportunity to test one of the recipes for my daughter's second birthday.

Inspired by "Loving Creations For You"; I made her these cute mini Lollipop Chiffon Pops. She absolutely loved eating them.

I can't wait to try more creations from her book in the future.

My sweetest little girl,

I have mixed emotions as you turn 2. I am excited because I see how much you’ve grown, and I know so many magical moments await you. You are growing up so fast and there are no longer any babies in our sweet home.

Over the last two years, you’ve amazed us in so many ways. You came out with the sweetest spirit but an attitude that told us you were strong-minded and independent. I know your strength and persistence will serve you well in life. Being compassionate and tough will make you such a remarkable woman.

I’m confident that you will develop a friendship with your big brother that nourishes your soul (and his) in such a powerful way. I know that you will always be very loyal to the people you love. I know that you will love to learn and explore in a way that makes your life rich and satisfying. I know that I will butt heads with you at times because we share so many personality traits. On the other hand, I also know that we will always make peace because our compassion allows us to step outside of ourselves and see things from someone else’s perspective.

Your educational experience will open up a world of opportunities, and you will take advantage of whatever speaks to your heart. Our little family will give you the security that every kid wants and deserves. Your challenges will help shape you into the amazing woman I know you will become.

If the first two years of your life serve as any indication of what the next two will bring, I have to just push my little bit of sadness aside and embrace the part of me that’s thrilled about your growth. As much as I may wish for my babies to remain babies, I know you can’t be babies forever. You have to learn and explore. You need to grow and figure out who you want to be and what you want from life.

On your birthday and everyday, I hope you are able to feel every ounce of love that surrounds you. I hope you know that you were born into a family that wants the very best for you. I hope that your childhood shapes up to be much of what mine was, and a lot more. I know life won’t always be perfect because it just doesn’t work that way. But I do know that life will always have magic in it if you simply train your eyes to see it.

I hope we do a great job teaching you how to train your eyes.

Loving you always and forever,
Mummy & Daddy

Thank you for stopping by! Hope to see you soon to share with you more cake creations and treats.
