Chocolate Explosion Drip Cake

Hi Cake Sweeties

This single barrel cake with layers of vanilla and chocolate sponges is sandwiched and covered with vanilla whipped cream and organic strawberry jam.

We decorated with the decadent chocolate ganache dripping & topped with all an overload of your favorite treats, i.e. homemade macarons, Ferrero Rocher, wafer rolls, rock candy and cool whip cream (with pink edible sparkles).

This impressive bake uses a popular decoration technique called the 'drip'. The drip is often a ganache or loose icing that is drizzled around the top edge of the cake so it drips down to create the drip effect, also called flooded cake.

* Please NOTE our “single barrel” cakes are nearly 4 tall.

We make variations of this cake depending on the sweet treat assortment for the week or by your preference subject to one-month notice. At the moment, we can only make one a week due to our limited fridge space.

Jungle Animal Themed Cake & Cupcakes

Dear Cake Sweeties

A new friend I met through hubby came to ask if I could make a jungle safari themed cake for her son’s first birthday. This is the second time I have another go at the animal prints and I have improved so much, and very happy to have this opportunity to create this cute cake.

For Derek’s safari themed cake, the main inspiration was from a photo Mum Olivia sent me via Custom Birthday Cakes in UK.

To execute that theme we included several cute jungle animals included a lion, a monkey, a giraffe, a hippo and an elephant.

The top tier was decorated in giraffe print while the bottom tier was decorated in zebra print. Additional decorations include a final decision to add a palm tree, a palm leaf name plague and a few blossoms here and there.

Flavor and filling for the 6" were dark chocolate mud cake with dark chocolate ganache.
Flavor and filling for the 8" were dark and white chocolate zebra print mud cake with dark chocolate ganache.

We’ve also made two dozens cupcakes with eight designs for the topper i.e. elephant, lion, hippo, zebra, giraffe, monkey, tiger and palm leaf with number 1. Flavor and filling were our ultimate chocolate cupcake with vanilla cool whip frosting.

Furthermore, for the keepsake of all the animal toppers, I made a dummy cake that is covered in green and decorated with green leaves for them to put on and store for years to come.

~
Dear Derek

Trumpet, bleat, roar, chatter and grunt from all the animals saying happy birthday. Wishing you a Onederfully, Onederful birthday full of Oneder.

Halloween Dessert Table

Hi Cake Sweeties

Today I wanted to share with you the Halloween Dessert Table we had this year.

At my household, we always do something cute, child-friendly and whimsical so our little ones don’t get frighten of the event. This year, Paul was a Prince William’s double, I was a Princess Anna, Mr 3 was the Purple Wiggle & Miss 1 was the Yellow Wiggle.

The children were overjoyed to see all of the sweets and goodies at the party table including corn candies, some store-bought themed donuts, gorgeous Gingerbread Man Cookies and Chocolate Chips Cookies that I made.

Everyone loved my Pistachio Macarons filled with dark chocolate ganache most. The Red Velvet Cupcakes (with Beetroot juice to substitute the normal red food coloring) were a hit too, only I forgot to decorate with my fondant toppers. ^^”

To complete the Halloween party fun, each little guest was offered the take-home goodies from the party favor table; well, we hope you are ready for S’more!. We had S’more Treats for my peeps today with different treats in a cellophane bag.

In term of our drinking station, we were a bit naughty this year. Since I stopped breastfeeding in June, I had Elderflower Mocktail and very children-friendly juices such as carrots, tomato (in the science tubes) and iced lemon tea. After very delicious Halloween Signature Meals, we had store bought fruit graveyard as well.

Finally, whoever came to knock on our door was giving our delicious handmade chocolate chips cookie instead of sweets or candies.

Fondant Decorated Macarons

Hi Cake Sweeties

My dear friend Cici just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl last month. She is now out of confinement (Mandarin literally means “sitting out the month.” During the first 30 days, mothers are expected to remain at homes and follow a complex set of rules to care for themselves).

That also means Baby Chealsea is officially one month old today… Hip Hip Hooray

Mummy asked me if I could make her some macarons favors to express their gratitude to all their friends for their support and well wishes their friends have shown them (In Chinese culture as I previously stated when Miss E was one month old, a baby’s first month birthday calls for a celebration. Traditionally, the parents hand out red-dyed eggs or cakes, symbolising happiness and the renewal of life).

We chose three flavours with three designs decorated with fondant. Inspired by Sweet Boo from Facebook.

The first flavour is hazelnut filled with dark chocolate ganache and decorated as the little girl from Little Twin Stars. The next flavour is lemon filled with lemon curd and decorated with a green bow on top. The third flavour is vanilla tinted a bit pink food colouring, which is filled with organic strawberry jam and decorated with Baby Chelsea’s initials and hearts on the top to symbolise the headpiece she will be wearing when she grows up.

What an intense few days but the result is awesome.
