Marvel Tsum Tsum Party

Hi Cake Sweeties

What a Super Sunday my little family had with our beloved friends joined by our own cute and little superheros, together we celebrated my little ones' combined birthday.

I made a few superhero cakes only for little and big boys last year. This time, it was my little ones’ combined birthday party. It reflected on the cake design and colour palates for my boy and my girl. You can see pink for little sunshine and blue for little valentine.

In the meantime, instead of making the original characters, I turned them into Tsum Tsum version (Tsum Tsum is the name for a range of Japanese collectible stuffed toys. The name is derived from the Japanese verb tsumu meaning “to stack”, because the rectangle or oval-shaped toys are designed to stack on top of each other, forming a pyramid shape).

The cake was completed with five handmade Marvel Tsum Tsum fondant figurines i.e. Captain America, Hulk, Spiderman, Wonder Woman and Black Widow on the top. Top tier was vanilla and chocolate swirl cake and bottom tier was sugar-free chocolate and vanilla cake.

I kept things very simple this year with only two matching treats. First one was the vanilla sugared cookie topped with a thin fondant and decorated with the edible image. Second one was macaron push-up pop. However, I did four flavours in total – Lemon with decorated buttercream and lemon curd / Strawberry with decorated buttercream and strawberry jam / Vanilla with salted caramel chocolate ganache and last one was chocolate with dark chocolate ganache; which I served on the table.

Dear Little Valentine and Little Sunshine

Every time you two smile at me, you always make me a proud parent with your blessings. Now I hope I can make you feel proud children with mine.

Happy birthday, Little Mister and Little Miss! I can’t tell you enough every single day…I love you both to the moon and back (although Mum is too tired after the party that I can’t wake up in the middle of the night to see the Super Moon).

Thank you everyone for making Jeremy and Ellie’s birthday the BEST and COOLEST DAY EVER!!!

I have more to make for their celebrations at school and childcare.

Counting our blessings and wishing you more...

Christmas Chocolate Truffle Cake

Hello, my dear and sweet cake family and friends

As 2018 comes to an end and 2019 begins, I take this opportunity to thank everyone I have had the pleasure to work with in the last year. It has been a magical cake year where I can truly say I have enjoyed making every cake, meeting everyone (old and new cake friends). Thank you for stopping by my blog, Group on Facebook, Pinterest and WeChat; for leaving me some kind words, to support a hobby of a stay-at home Mum, it means the world to me and my little family.

Here's the last cake I made in 2018. This Christmas Cake is a delicious twist on a holiday classic. A rich Chocolate Truffle Cake paired with a silky Belgium bittersweet chocolate and decorated with fondant on the top. This would definitely be on our menu soon.

Happy New Year to you all. Thank you again for another fantastic year! Counting our blessings and wishing you more...

Happy baking,
Beth xo
