Lego Inspired Cake

Hi Cake Sweeties

Today I bring you a cake for people of all ages…Lego-Inspired that is!
The cake design came from “The Sweet Design”. In the beginning, I considered moulding Lego bricks using a silicone mould and coloured chocolate melts or fondant to get perfectly uniform bricks, but with the thickness of the bricks, I realised that the cake would be too difficult to cut.
I settled with cutting out many different colours rectangles as bricks to stick on four sides first. When that’s all done, started cutting out tiny circles using a straw, then arrange the tiny circles to look like Lego on top of the cake.
I made two major toppers a week ahead of baking the cake, which were the number 7 and the nameplate. I used the Lego Font to type out the number and name first as a template or guidance to cut out on the gumpaste.
The cake itself was carrot cake sandwiched with cream cheese white chocolate ganache and covered with white chocolate ganache. The flavour birthday mum loves so much.
